Jarad is seeking election on March 3, 2020, as the Republican nominee for Judge of the 114th District Court and then election on November 3, 2020, in the general election.

Jarad is a life-long conservative Republican and a strong supporter of our Constitution, including the important right to a trial by jury before a fair and impartial judge who follows the law as written.

The law has opened many doors for Jarad and has helped him bring justice to folks from all walks of life. Jarad graduated from Baylor Law School and has been in the courtroom trying high-stakes lawsuits across the state since he joined the firm of Chamblee Ryan in 2009. Jarad established and manages the firm’s Tyler office, where he works as a firm partner. For the past five years, Jarad has been named a "Rising Star" by Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers Magazine, a distinction given to no more than 2.5% of eligible attorneys in Texas.

While at Baylor, Jarad was a member of the prestigious Baylor Law Review and the Order of the Barristers. Jarad received a B.A., cum laude, with a double major in Politics and Philosophy, from The Catholic University of America in 2005.

Jarad clerked for Chief Justice Linda Thomas with the 5th Court of Appeals in Dallas. While in Washington, D.C., Jarad worked for Congressman Ralph Hall and the Republican Governor of Rhode Island.


Jarad is a true son of Smith County. He was born and raised in Tyler, attending Bishop Gorman High School, and is passionate about reinvesting in his hometown.

Jarad and his wife of 13 years, Dr. Jennifer Kent, are blessed with two daughters: Anna and Nora, and they attend the Chapel of Sts. Peter and Paul.
